The Blizzards last played in The College Bar in September 07 to a packed house and put on an electrifying performance. There has been a lot of hype around the Blizzards for the past couple of years, and rightly so. For the past 2 years, they have been one of the most popular acts at Oxegen and their hit "Fantasy" was one of the tunes of 2007. In fact, their performance at Oxegen in 2007 was such a huge success, it led to the band winning the "Best Irish Live Performance" at The Meteor Awards.
And yes, that is Bresie wearing last year's Freshers' T-Shirt in th picture on the left...

We're delighted to announce the return of the finest tribute band around, The Antarctic Monkeys. Obviously, they are a tribute to the Arctic Monkeys with the added bonus of putting on a show with considerably more energy then that real things.
After their first visit last semester, we were inundated with requests to get the back to Galway as soon as possible. So here they are!
Its hard to overstate just how good these guys are. They have featured in the bible that is Q Magazine, The Sunday Telegraph, The Observer and even Sky News.
If in doubt about how good these guys are, ask someone who was at the gig last year...

Before we cast our mind back on the best bits, we'd just like to say, to each and every one of our customers, THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR at The College Bar.
Over the past year, we brought you acts such as The Blizzards, Big Generator, The Saw Doctors, Republic of Loose, The Japanese Popstars, Buck Taylor and The Antarctic Monkeys; We've put on the year's best parties, such as the days after The Comm Ball, Science Ball, Arts ball, Law Ball, Med Ball, Nurses Ball, Eng Ball as well as the post exam parties at Christmas and Summer. Many of these great Parties were graced by Galway's finest - DJ Byrno, DJ Ferg and DJ Paul Hannon.
With the College year drawing to a close again, we thought we'd resurrect this Youtube movie from last year. If we have enough spare time on our hands over the coming week or so we might even do up and 2008 versions.
